How It Works

The shell is hollowed and fitted with a sealed chamber that holds a small amount of ashes securely. The opening is discreet and designed to be filled carefully at home. A small amount is all that’s needed – the keychain is a keepsake, not a full memorial urn.

It carries on a standard keyring via the swivel pin and 25mm split ring. The swivel pin allows it to rotate freely so it sits comfortably in a pocket without catching. The overall size is that of a standard 12 gauge shell – compact enough to carry every day.

Q: How much ash does it hold? The chamber holds roughly a tablespoon of ashes – enough to be meaningful as a keepsake. It is not designed to hold a full set of remains. Most customers use it alongside a larger urn at home, carrying a small amount with them as a daily connection.

Q: How do I fill it? The shell has a discreet opening at the base that allows you to carefully add a small amount of ashes. We recommend using a small funnel or folded paper to guide the ashes in. Once filled, the seal keeps the contents secure during normal daily use. The shell contains a small sealed pouch inside the chamber – simply place a small amount of ashes into the pouch, fold it closed, and tuck it gently back inside. The shell then closes securely around it, we suggest glueing the end cap on to ensure the contents are safe for everyday carry.

Q: Is it suitable for pet ashes as well as human ashes? Yes – many of our customers use this for beloved dogs, particularly gun dogs and working dogs. It is equally suitable for any pet or person. The personalisation option allows you to add their name regardless of whether it is for a person or an animal.
